Outreach Health and Safety

Health and Safety is important in any workplace. Here are some school procedures that cover us in our different situations - in host schools and in homes.

Use of Car Seats for Young Children

The recent changes to legislation around the use of car seats (child safety restraints) affects schools when transporting students, but it is also useful for parents, caregivers and whanau to know.

The summary of the laws round this is as follows:

I Feel Sick - Reading/Health Powerpoint

A powerpoint for teaching: health recognition.

This powerpoint focuses on teaching children to tell an adult when they feel sick and to define the sickness to specific types of feelings.

Includes an audio narration of the story text.

Sometimes I am Sore - Reading/Health Powerpoint

This powerpoint also introduces the concept of pain affecting a person's feelings.

Chapter 2 focuses on teaching children to tell an adult when they feel sore and to point to where on their body the pain is.
